Zen Gardner If we’re in this at all we’re in it all the way. Once you’ve woken up you know the situation is both urgent and fully under control at the same time. It doesn’t reconcile in the carnal, natural mind but it makes total sense to consciousness. Paradoxes seem to abound, but it better …
The Health Coach, Contributing Writer Waking Times Once upon a time, before there were laboratories and test tubes and innocent animals to experiment on, there were anecdotes. Zen Gardner It’s time for a little conscious conjecture but let’s see what resonates. I, like many of you, have had dreams in my life, including recurring ones, that were clearly significant. I can’t say I’m an adept interpreter but most of us often try to consciously get whatever message we think there may be …
Z, Contributing Writer Waking Times There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. –Machiavelli History will have to record that the greatest tragedy in this period of social transition was …
We don’t expect utopia. If you think that’s what we’re after, maybe it says more about your idea of the function of government than ours.
Beliefs are basically the scaffolding by which our present paradigm, worldview, or consensus reality has been built, propped up, and maintained. Though we don’t realize it, we are currently trapped between two opposing paradigms by the old scaffolding (false beliefs) because we refuse to see that the old scaffolding must be dismantled before our awareness can expand to the boundaries of the scaffolding of a new and less limiting paradigm.

That’s if they are not busy meditating, of course.
Starting with The Teachings of Don Juan in 1968, Castaneda wrote a series of books that describe his purported training in traditional Mesoamerican shamanism. His 12 books have sold more than 8 million copies in 17 languages. The books and Castaneda, who rarely spoke in public about his work, have been controversial for many years.
In a changing and unpredictable world, no classical text is more rewarding, or more challenging, than the ancient Chinese I Ching or Book of Changes. This classic presents itself as a book of divination and invites dismissal on such grounds amongst educated Western circles, including even the great British sinologist and advocate of Chinese science and technology Joseph Needham.
Up until a few years ago, Yoga for me was a series of twists, bends and undulations with ludicrous new age epithets like ‘Prana Flow’, ‘Nude yoga’, ‘Shakti kicks’ and ‘Yoga trance dance’, performed in slick studios by nubile nymphs wearing fluorescent skin-tight clothing. I couldn’t quite see how cringe inducing catchphrases like ‘rock your yoga’ or ‘unleash your inner rockstar’ were going to transport me into mystical states of higher consciousness.
One of the most significant hurdles to our development as ‘whole’ human beings is our attachment to the false separation made between what is considered ‘practical’ and what is considered ‘spiritual’.
With the foundational goals of happiness, confidence, safety, and encouraging children to seek out their own passion, I think it is time that we look at what we should remove from public school philosophy, so that we prepare our children better for the real world that awaits beyond the orchestrated schoolyard experience.
Very little about being confined in school resembles the “real world”. Why not get children out in it as soon as possible? Mechanics, plumbers, electricians, contractors, computer programmers, and even artists are all people that have a wealth of knowledge to offer, yet it seems as though what they do or what they have to offer counts for very little.
“When the sun has reached its meridian, it declines and when the moon has become full, it wanes.” For,” Reversal is the way of the Tao.” What is true with natural phenomena is also true in human nature. This concept had a profound influence on the behavior of many a Chinese.
