“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” ~Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

When you hear the words “follow your heart,” what do you think? As it turns out, that expression is a lot more literal than you might conceive. As revealed by the non-profit research organization Institute of Heart Math, the heart is actually a complex intelligence system similar to the brain. In fact, research has concluded that the heart is more powerful at a degree of over 60 times electrically and 5,000 times magnetically than the brain.

  • These findings have led the researchers at HeartMath to a new understanding of the link between heart and intelligence. One of the institutes most influential breakthroughs is the finding that the heart’s electromagnetic field actually changes according to emotional states, which affects the nervous system.

It became clear that negative emotions lead to increased disorder in the heart’s rhythms and in the autonomic nervous system, thereby adversely affecting the rest of the body. In contrast, positive emotions create increased harmony and coherence in heart rhythms and improve balance in the nervous system.” – HeartMath Institute

The studies conducted by HeartMath suggest a greater necessity to pay attention to the way your heart feels. The better you feel the more your heart and brain work together in synergy creating greater clarity and balance, which is ideal no matter what you’re doing.

Our research and that of others indicate that the heart is far more than a simple pump. The heart is, in fact, a highly complex, self-organized information processing center with its own functional ‘brain’ that communicates with and influences the cranial brain via the nervous system, hormonal system and other pathways.” – HeartMath Institute

How Art And Music Affects The Heart

Research by the late Masaru Emoto has paved the way to a new understanding of the effect that sound and words have on water and the human body. What may be one of the greatest discoveries of the twenty-first century so far is the realization that water reacts and stores geometric memories in the form of crystal formations which come from both written and spoken words, as well as music and photography.

By filling jars with water and subsequently subjecting them to photography, music, words, and prayer, then quickly freezing the water, Emoto was able to create varying crystal patterns which seem to correspond either negatively or positively to each stimuli. Words like love, truth, harmony, wisdom, and peace created beautiful crystal formations while words like “fool” and “disgust,” as well as heavy metal music, created distorted and ugly patterns.

Considering that the human heart and brain are made up of around 75% water, it makes sense that the state of that water would make an impact upon the heart and mind, influencing clarity of thought.

“Water records information, and while circulating throughout the earth distributes information. This water sent from the universe is full of the information of life…” ― Masaru Emoto, The Hidden Messages in Water

There is another way which sound can be shown to create geometric patterns known as cymatics. By sprinkling salt on a board and sending different sound frequencies through it, geometric patterns are formed. As the pitch of the sound increases, the patterns in the salt become more complex.

“I believe that the greatest truths of the Universe don’t lie outside, in the study of the stars and planets. They lie deep within us, in the magnificence of our heart, mind, and soul. Until we understand what is within, we can’t understand what is without.” – Anita Moorjani, Near-Death Experiencer

When You Follow Your Heart, Love Wins

If you ever feel like you’re lost, remember what makes you feel alive. Your heart might not lead you in the direction you had in mind. It might get you in trouble or not make sense at first, but it will never lead you astray from the path that’s right for you. Seek to empower, inform, and uplift others with an open heart and that magic will come back to you in time. When you follow your heart, Love Wins.

“Defeating evil is truly as simple as practicing good consistently, repeatedly and with a sense of genuine love for humanity in your heart. Each and every day, you make a hundred small choices that seem inconsequential at the time, but they actually add up in a big way. By making those choices in the interests of the protection of life, you multiply the good in the world.” – Mike Adams, Natural News
