Your gentle brush of the depravity and absolute evil it manifested, is incredibly misguided at best, or just as evil, if not more evil by lessening the historical darkness with which this ‘Special Day’ entailed.

Yes, in some instances it was to celebrate the harvest, but it was paganism to honor the creation and ignoring the ‘Creator’. Not unlike an admirer loving the shadow of the person instead of loving the person themselves.

Without the Dark there is no Light. Lewis Herridge wants to throw the baby out with the bathwater. He can condemn human sacrifice without condemning Halloween.
Without Samhain, All Saints’ Day makes no sense.

But these Saints were followers of the one Divine God. Furthermore, remember that Jesus descended into hell. Ever wonder why? For starters ask yourself if Satan would willingly accept hell as his eternal abode? ” It is better to command in hell then to be subservent in heaven!” Satan. aka Lucifer before his defeat by the Arch Angel Michael.

Recall all images of St. Michael is one where he is about to smote Satan. In his left hand is the scales of justice! In short, the orders by St. Michael as given by God, and remember, Lucifer is God’s creation.

“Depart from your master’s estate or Die!” Satan did walk the earth for a period of time. But Gen. 3:15 promised his ultimate defeat! But even St. Michael spared Satan’s life, giving him, Satan that is, earthly exisitance because hell wasn’t prepared as of yet!.Then the violation in the Garden of Eden. A direct attempt to corrupt the Saviors earthly existance to take over the creation and the world.Consequence, flood the earth and destroy everything except Noah and his family. Why? Because every human from now on has been disinheretit. The Flood was solely to prepare the way for Jesus and thus save the world for those, who, until the end of the age seek salvation by Jesus Christ. End of Story!
