New Frontiers in Free Energy: The Gravity Light

The need for free, non-extractive energy sources is paramount to the health of our planet and its inhabitants. It seems that the fossil fuel industries have for decades succeeded in suppressing the most promising alternatives to dirty fuel, and there appears to be no end in sight to big oil and gas. However, nowadays we see the task of developing reliable sources of free energy is being picked up by small inventors and designers, genuinely concerned with the improvement of the human condition.

Driven by compassion for the plight of Africans who burn expensive and unhealthy kerosene for basic household lighting in many villages, inventors Martin Riddiford and Jim Reeves of London have designed a small, portable LED lighting system that is powered by gravity alone.

The Gravity Light is an inexpensive lamp with a cable hanging from a gear mechanism inside the lamp. When an included hanging bag is filled with sand, or other weighted objects, and attached to the cable, the slow movement of the bag pulling downwards on the strap generates enough energy to power a single LED bulb for up to half an hour. To restart the light, simply rehang the bag. The light can also be wired to power auxiliary lights or even recharge batteries, demonstrating enormous potential for other free energy devices.

Below is a video demonstrating the Gravity Light and explaining how it works.

Converting kerosene lit homes to homes lit by this ingenious free energy device could potentially help many people save money and fuel, and prevent diseases associated with burning dirty fuels inside the home.

Maybe there is hope for free energy after all.

Please help to support their efforts to improve the device and to bring it to market where it can be employed in the service of mankind. Visit their fundraising page at, http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/282006.
